The "USA Visit Visa" that Pakistanis usually mean is officially called the B1/B2 Nonimmigrant Visitor Visa. The DS-160 is the official Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application form. Every applicant — including infants — must have their own DS-160. It is filed at ceac.state.gov/genniv, the U.S. government's official Consular Electronic Application Center. There is no other legitimate place to file it; be very cautious of any website asking extra "processing fees" to fill this form for you.

The non-refundable MRV (Machine Readable Visa) application fee for a B1/B2 visa is US $185 per applicant — paid whether your visa is approved or refused, and paid separately by every applicant, including children. Pakistan does not have an additional visa issuance (reciprocity) fee for B1/B2 visas — the fee is None, with visas issued for multiple entries valid 60 months (5 years).

Presidential Proclamation 10998, effective January 1, 2026, fully or partially suspends U.S. entry and visa issuance for nationals of 39 specific countries (mostly in Africa, the Middle East, and parts of Asia — for example Afghanistan, Iran, Somalia, Yemen, and others). Pakistan is not on this 39-country list. B1/B2 visitor visa processing for Pakistani nationals continues normally.

Separately, effective January 21, 2026, the State Department paused immigrant visa (permanent residence / "green card") issuance for nationals of 75 countries — including Pakistan — while it reviews public-benefit-related screening policies. This pause applies only to immigrant visas. It does not affect B1/B2 visitor visas, student visas, or other nonimmigrant categories, which continue to be processed for Pakistani nationals.

From July 1 through December 31, 2026, the State Department is piloting a $750 optional fee that lets some B1/B2 applicants get an interview appointment within about 10 business days, at a limited number of participating posts — introduced partly because of demand around the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This is on top of the normal $185 MRV fee, does not affect your approval chances, and is not available everywhere.
